Matthew is the Chairman of The Campaign for Wool in Canada and its parent organization, The Canadian Wool Council.  Matthew also serves as the Head of the Canadian Delegation to the International Wool Textile Organization, where he secured Canada’s first-ever seat and sits on the Executive Committee as a Special Advisor to the President.  

In a complimentary role, Matthew is Vice President - Ontario Policy & Government Relations with Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters, one of Canada’s oldest trade associations.

Before taking on a leadership role in Canada's wool textile industry, Matthew held senior roles with the now King’s Trust Canada, Canada's Senate and House of Commons and work in policy, media and international development.

Matthew is a graduate of Mount Allison University and is a recipient of The Queen Elizabeth II Golden (2002) and Diamond (2012) Jubilee Medals as well as The King Charles III Coronation Medal (2024) for his services to the community.  In 2021, he was granted the Freedom of the City of London (UK) and membership in The Worshipful Company of Woolmen, the world’s oldest wool guild.
