Wool Month 2025: Recap

Another Wool Month has come and gone, full of exciting events, initiatives, and industry activity! From advocating for sustainability policies to developing opportunities for the entire Canadian wool value chain, we’re committed to making an impact.

Holt Renfrew Capsule Collection

Wool Month hit the ground running as we celebrated the launch of the Campaign for Wool Designer Capsule and the Holiday Bear at Holt Renfrew’s H Project. Created in collaboration with Canadian knitwear brand LINE, the collection included five limited-edition sweaters inspired by ‘90s collegiate nostalgia. The capsule also featured two new 100% Canadian wool products by STE MARG SCOT.

Point-of-Sale Kits

Every Wool Month, we distribute free point-of-sale kits across Canada to support businesses that sell wool and wool products, as part of our ongoing advocacy for Canada’s entire wool value chain. This year, we sent 200 kits to 11 provinces and territories.

2025 Design: Check It’s Wool

This Wool Month, and into the future, we encourage consumers and citizens to check labels—from sweaters to duvets—and CHOOSE WOOL for its superior qualities and eco-friendly lifecycle.

Fabric of Canada

We were also thrilled to debut two new Fabric of Canada films, which tell the stories of Canadian wool and the Canadians who transform it. Woolkeepers of Saskatchewan and Generation Wool are now available to watch on our YouTube channel—don’t miss these inspiring stories!

Generation Wool follows Mike Little, alongside his wife and business parter Leah Little, their sons John-Michael and Carl, and a dedicated team of long-time employees at Briggs & Little Woolen Mill. Together, they open the doors to the mill’s inner workings — from the rhythm of daily production to unforgettable milestones.

Under the endless Prairie skies, Woolkeepers of Saskatchewan spotlights passionate farmers, entrepreneurs, artists, and young people who are transforming local wool into opportunities that celebrate Saskatchewan’s culture, heritage, and spirit of possibility.

Premiering at Government House

We premiered Woolkeepers of Saskatchewan at Government House in Regina, in the presence of the Honourable Lieutenant Governor Bernadette McIntyre, the Executive Director of the Saskatchewan Sheep Development Board, Gordon Schroeder, as well as Hon. Daryl Harrison, Saskatchewan’s Minister of Agriculture, and film participants.

Celebrating with ça va de soi

In early November, we gathered Quebec’s wool community to celebrate 10 years of the Campaign for Wool in the province, in partnership with ça va de soi — the Montreal-based premium knitwear house that has championed wool for over 30 years.

A silent auction featuring beautiful creations donated by ça va de soi, Milo & Dexter, and textile artist Sandy Lamb helped us raise funds toward a shearing training program we plan to launch in 2026.
